What does an ECU unlock do?
BMW secures its engine control units so that the software cannot be easily read or written to. The unlock removes this write protection and is therefore the prerequisite for any subsequent software adjustment. It does not change the engine tuning itself.
Which product is right for my BMW?
The decisive factors are the model, year of manufacture, and the type of control unit installed. For the M2 Competition and M2 CS (F87), M3 (F80), and M4 (F82/F83) with Bosch MEVD 17.2.G, we also distinguish between models built before and from 06/2020. For vehicles from 07/2020 with Bosch MG1 or MD1, the OBD/bench unlock is available. If your model is not listed, please contact us.
