Which R1 generation do I have – RN22, RN32, RN49, or RN65?
Yamaha designates each R1 generation with its own model code: RN22 stands for the years 2009 to 2014, RN32 for 2015 and 2016, RN49 for 2017 to 2019, and RN65 for models from 2020 onwards. Since engine control units differ between generations, the model code determines which optimization is suitable for your vehicle. You can find it in your vehicle registration documents.
