BMW F900R EURO 5+ Tuning from 2025 – what the Performance Flash achieves
The FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash replaces the stock software in the original BMW F900R engine control unit from model year 2025 onwards. Injection, ignition, lambda control, and throttle valve mapping are adjusted – resulting in about 3 to 5 hp more power, 7 Nm more torque, and a noticeably more homogeneous power delivery, without the need for additional hardware on the motorcycle.
Unlike piggyback modules or auxiliary control units, we intervene directly in the stock software. The optimization remains invisible from the outside, the ECU software number does not change, and BMW Motorrad diagnostic testers can still be used without restrictions.
We tune each software individually to your motorcycle and the hardware actually installed. Upon request, it can be combined with Linear Throttle, a lowered fan temperature, and an individually configured overrun fuel cut-off for pops & bangs.

Performance upgrade for the BMW F900R
We write the tuning software individually for your BMW F900R and adapt the maps to the hardware installed on your motorcycle.
Depending on the setup, this allows us to achieve an additional output of approx. +3 to +5 hp as well as around +7 Nm of torque.
In addition to pure power gains, we primarily improve the power delivery. The F900R accelerates more homogeneously and smoothly, and responds more directly to throttle inputs overall.
The typical low-speed jerking of the F900R is also significantly reduced or eliminated by the optimized maps.
Optimized injection and AFR values for the BMW F900R
As part of the BMW F900R ECU tuning, we also adapt the injection maps. This ensures that the air-fuel ratio (AFR) values of your F900R are in an optimized range for your specific setup.
In addition to improved drivability, this can also reduce thermal stress. Adjusted mixture preparation results in lower exhaust gas temperatures, which can thermally relieve components such as exhaust valves and cylinder heads in particular.
Linear Throttle for the BMW F900R
Do you want a more direct and controllable response? Upon request, we can program a linear throttle curve. For example, 50% throttle grip position will correspond exactly to 50% throttle valve position.
This gives you a much more direct and predictable response from your BMW F900R.
Optimizing the BMW F900R fan temperature
Upon request, we can lower both the switch-on and switch-off temperatures of the fans by approx. 4 °C each.
This ensures that active cooling begins earlier and runs longer. Your F900R will remain more reliably within the optimal temperature range even during very sporty riding, high outside temperatures, or in city traffic.
Pops & Bangs and overrun burbles on the BMW F900R
We individually adapt the overrun fuel cut-off of your BMW F900R to your wishes and the installed setup – from subtle burbles to clearly audible pops and bangs.
Important: With a setup featuring a catalytic converter, only overrun burbles are possible. Please specify when ordering whether your F900R is equipped with a catalytic converter, so we can adjust the configuration accordingly.

Suitable performance parts for your BMW F900R
Exhaust systems and air filters in particular have an influence on the optimal map tuning. You can find suitable parts in our following categories:

To achieve the specified performance increase, the following are mandatory for the F900R:
- an aftermarket rear silencer or sport exhaust, e.g., from Akrapovic, SC-Project, or Austin Racing
- a sport air filter, e.g., from K&N, BMC, or DNA
Without these components, the specified power gain cannot be fully realized. The other functions of the optimization – drivability, AFR values, Linear Throttle, fan temperature, and overrun fuel cut-off – are available to you regardless.
How the software optimization of your BMW F900R works

- Send in the control unit – Remove the ECU from your BMW F900R and send it to us securely packaged and insured.
- Programming – Upon receipt, your control unit is usually processed by our technicians within 24 hours. For shipments from Switzerland, the processing time is typically 24 to 72 hours.
- Install and ride – We will send your control unit back to you. Connect, install, and you're ready to go.
No additional hardware necessary
No additional control unit is installed on the motorcycle for the software optimization. Your original ECU is programmed by us. The control unit is not opened or damaged during this process and remains unchanged from the outside.
The software number of your ECU remains unchanged, and BMW Motorrad diagnostic testers can still be used without restrictions.

How much power does the BMW F900R tuning provide?
Depending on the installed hardware, we achieve approx. +3 to +5 hp and +7 Nm more torque. At least as noticeable is the smoother power delivery and the elimination of low-speed jerking.
What does Linear Throttle do?
It sets the throttle grip curve to 1:1 with the throttle valve position. 50% throttle grip means exactly 50% throttle valve position, making the response more direct and easier to modulate.
Why is the fan temperature lowered?
We lower the switch-on and switch-off temperatures of the fans by approx. 4 °C each. Active cooling starts earlier and runs longer, which thermally relieves the engine during sporty riding and high outside temperatures.
Do I need a sport exhaust or sport air filter for the optimization?
For the specified performance increase, yes – an aftermarket rear silencer and a sport air filter are required for the F900R. The other optimization features are available to you even with stock hardware.
Does the optimization work with a catalytic converter?
Yes. The performance increase and the optimized injection maps are possible even with a catalytic converter. However, with a catalytic converter, only overrun burbles are possible for the overrun fuel cut-off, not pops and bangs.
Is the software tuned to my exhaust system?
Yes. When tuning, we take into account the installed rear silencer, air filter, catalytic converter, and other relevant modifications. Please provide these details in the comments field of your order.
Can I continue to use a BMW Motorrad tester?
Yes. BMW Motorrad diagnostic testers continue to work without restrictions, as the software number of the ECU remains unchanged.
Does the control unit need to be opened for programming?
No. The ECU is not opened or damaged during programming. The optimization is also not detectable from the outside.
How long does the processing take?
After your ECU arrives, processing usually takes place within 24 hours. For shipments from Switzerland, the processing time is typically 24 to 72 hours.
