Kawasaki Z 900 70kW from 2025 - FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash

Kawasaki Z 900 70 kW Tuning from 2025 – what the Performance Flash achieves

The FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash replaces the stock software in the original engine control unit of the Kawasaki Z 900 70 kW for model years 2025 and newer. We adjust the injection, ignition, lambda control, and throttle valve mapping, resulting in around 30 hp more power, 10 to 12 Nm more torque, and a noticeably smoother power delivery, all without additional hardware on the motorcycle.

Unlike piggyback modules or auxiliary control units, we intervene directly in the stock software. The optimization remains invisible from the outside, and the ECU is neither opened nor damaged.

We customize each software individually to your motorcycle and the hardware actually installed. Upon request, it can be combined with the FLAWLESS Power Mapswitch, our quickshifter retrofit, lowered fan temperatures, removal of the Vmax limiter, deactivation of the immobilizer, and a custom-configured fuel cut-off for "pops & bangs."

Performance upgrade for the Kawasaki Z 900

We write the tuning software individually for your Kawasaki Z 900 and adapt the maps to the hardware installed on your motorcycle.

Depending on the setup, this allows us to achieve a power increase of approximately +30 hp and around +10 to +12 Nm of torque.

Beyond just raw power, we primarily improve the power delivery. The Z 900 accelerates more smoothly and consistently and reacts more directly to throttle inputs overall.

The typical constant throttle jerkiness of the Z 900 is also significantly reduced or eliminated by the optimized maps.

Optimized injection and AFR values for the Kawasaki Z 900

As part of the Kawasaki Z 900 ECU tuning, we also adjust the injection maps. This ensures the Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR) values of your Z 900 remain in a range optimized for your specific setup.

In addition to improved drivability, this can also reduce thermal stress. The adjusted mixture preparation results in lower exhaust temperatures, which relieves thermal load on components such as the exhaust valves and cylinder heads.

FLAWLESS Power Mapswitch for the Kawasaki Z 900

With the optional FLAWLESS Power Mapswitch, you can toggle between two mappings using the KTRC levels of your 2025+ Kawasaki Z 900.

On the restricted KTRC levels, the A2 power output is maintained, while on the open KTRC levels, you have the full FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash with unrestricted power at your disposal.

This gives you direct access to both characteristics using your Z 900's stock controls—no extra switches or modifications required. Switching occurs while stationary at 0 km/h.

KTRC level configuration

As of 2025, the 70-kW version of the Z 900 no longer features riding modes. Therefore, we use the KTRC levels for switching. The configuration could look like this, for example:

KTRC Level Mapping
KTRC OFF open – FLAWLESS Performance Flash - Pops & Bangs
KTRC Level 1 open – FLAWLESS Performance Flash - Pops & Bangs
KTRC Level 2 open – FLAWLESS Performance Flash - no Pops & Bangs
KTRC Level 3 restricted – A2 power - Stock mapping

You determine which of the two mappings is active by selecting the KTRC level.

Quickshifter and Blipper retrofitting

Upon request, we can program a quickshifter and blipper directly into the original ECU of your Kawasaki Z 900—enabling clutchless up- and downshifting without any additional control units on the motorcycle.

Simply select the option in the configurator, and we will supply the appropriate sensor. The sensor connects easily to the existing connector on the wiring harness—plug it in, install the ECU, and ride.

Optimizing the Kawasaki Z 900 fan temperature

Upon request, we can lower both the switch-on and switch-off temperatures of the cooling fan by approximately 4 °C each.

This ensures active cooling starts sooner and runs longer. Your Z 900 will stay more reliably within its optimal temperature window, even during aggressive riding, high ambient temperatures, or in city traffic.

Removing the Kawasaki Z 900 Vmax limiter

The top speed of your Z 900 is electronically limited as standard.

Upon request, we can remove this top-speed limit so that acceleration does not cut off prematurely.

Deactivating the Kawasaki Z 900 immobilizer

Do you use your Z 900 on the racetrack? Upon request, we can deactivate the immobilizer.

This allows your motorcycle to be started without an ignition key—very practical if the bike has been modified for track use.

Pops & Bangs and overrun burbles on the Kawasaki Z 900

We adapt the fuel cut-off of your Kawasaki Z 900 individually to your preferences and the installed setup—ranging from subtle overrun burbles to clearly audible pops & bangs.

You can also program the pops & bangs to occur only on specific KTRC levels via the configurator.

Important: With a setup including a catalytic converter, only overrun burbles are possible. Please indicate during your order if a catalytic converter is installed on your Z 900, and we will adjust the configuration accordingly.

Individual tuning for your setup

Every software optimization for the Kawasaki Z 900 is tuned to your motorcycle's specific hardware. Please provide the following information in the comments field when placing your order:

  • Installed slip-on muffler or exhaust system, e.g., LeoVince, Bodis, Remus, Austin Racing, Arrow, or Akrapovic
  • Installed air filter, e.g., K&N, BMC, or Rade Garage
  • Catalytic converter present: yes or no
  • Other relevant modifications

This allows us to optimally tune the mapping for your Kawasaki Z 900.

Suitable performance parts for your Kawasaki Z 900

Exhaust systems and air filters in particular influence the optimal map tuning. You can find suitable parts in our categories:

  • Exhaust systems from Akrapovic, LeoVince, and MIVV
  • Sports air filters from K&N and MWR; BMC or Rade Garage filters are also suitable.

Systems from Bodis, Remus, Austin Racing, or Arrow are also suitable. We are happy to clarify which combination best suits your setup before you place your order.

What hardware is required for maximum performance?

To achieve the stated performance increase, the following is mandatory for the Z 900:

  • An aftermarket slip-on muffler or sports exhaust, e.g., from Bodis, Remus, Austin Racing, Arrow, or Akrapovic

Why FLAWLESS Industries?

We have been developing our software optimizations in-house for over 5 years and write every mapping individually—we do not use pre-purchased files.

The basis for this is created on our own high-performance simulation dyno. Every setup variant—from the stock configuration to combinations of various sports exhaust systems, sports air filters, and configurations with and without catalytic converters—is physically installed and specifically tuned during development. Our maps are therefore based on real measured values, not on estimates or copied files.

We process well over 1,000 control units annually. Development and programming take place entirely in Germany. If you have questions about your setup, you can reach us directly—we will advise you before you order on which configuration suits your motorcycle and intended use.
