KTM EXC-F 350 2012 to 2016 – FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit / Installation
Quickshifter Retrofit for the KTM EXC-F 350 2012 to 2016
With the FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit, we add a quickshifter to the original ECU of your 2012 to 2016 KTM EXC-F 350—for fast clutchless upshifts, without an additional control unit and without modifying the wiring harness. As usual, shift bangs are included.
This is made possible by our own custom code in the engine control unit. Since EXC models from 2012 to 2016 do not have a gear position sensor from the factory, we include the SP Electronics Quickshifter Sensor. The sensor is mounted on the shift lever and connected plug & play to the oxygen sensor connector—no cutting, soldering, or modifications required.

| ECU software number | Stock | Unchanged |
No Additional Control Unit – How the Retrofit Works
Typical quickshifter retrofits require an additional control unit on the motorcycle to cut the ignition via an intermediate wiring harness. Our system does away with that.
With the FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit, the entire shift algorithm runs in your EXC-F 350’s original ECU. The SP Electronics sensor on the shift lever sends the shift signal directly to the control unit through the oxygen sensor connector—the lambda input is reassigned accordingly in our custom code. You don’t have to wire, cut, or solder anything.
Adaptive Shift Cut Times Instead of Fixed Settings
External quickshifter modules use fixed shift cut times and restore ignition according to a preset interval—which can be too early or too late depending on the gear and RPM.
By contrast, our custom code calculates the shift cut time directly in the control unit based on RPM and load, just as KTM does on models equipped with a factory quickshifter. You get consistently clean performance with every shift—without unnecessary transmission wear.
How Your Quickshifter Retrofit Works
- Configure – Order the FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit for your KTM EXC-F 350 and select your preferred options.
- Send in your ECU – Remove the ECU from your KTM EXC-F 350 and send it to us securely packaged and insured.
- Programming – Once received, our technicians will usually process your control unit within 24 hours. Shipments from Switzerland typically take 24 to 72 hours to process.
- Reinstall and ride – We’ll return your control unit together with the SP Electronics sensor and adapter cable. Mount the sensor on the shift lever, plug the adapter cable into the oxygen sensor connector, reinstall the ECU, and you’re ready to go.
What’s Included
- Programming of your original ECU with the FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit
- SP Electronics Quickshifter Sensor (Supermoto/off-road version, Made in Italy) for mounting on the shift lever
- Plug & play adapter cable
The control unit is not opened or damaged during programming and remains unchanged externally. Your ECU’s software number remains unchanged, and KTM diagnostic tools can still be used without restriction.
Why FLAWLESS Industries?
We have been developing our own software optimizations in-house for over 5 years, writing every code individually—we don’t use off-the-shelf files from third parties.
Our work is based on our own high-performance simulation dyno. Each configuration is installed and specifically tuned individually during development. This means our programming is based on real measurements, not estimates or files sourced elsewhere.
We process well over 1,000 control units every year. Development and programming are carried out entirely in Germany. If you have questions about your motorcycle, you can contact us directly—we’ll be happy to advise you before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Quickshifter Retrofit
Why is a sensor required on 2012 to 2016 models?
EXC-F models from these years do not have a factory-installed gear position sensor. The included SP Electronics sensor on the shift lever detects the shift and sends a signal to the ECU. From model year 2017 onward, we use the existing gear position sensor instead—see FLAWLESS Quickshifter GP.
Does an additional control unit need to be installed?
No. We program the quickshifter directly into your original ECU. No additional box is installed on the motorcycle.
Do I need to modify the wiring harness?
No. The sensor connects plug & play to the oxygen sensor connector using the included adapter cable. No cutting, soldering, or modifications are required.
Will the oxygen sensor still work afterward?
The oxygen sensor is no longer installed on motorcycles with the unrestricted power configuration. The connector is therefore unused anyway. We use the corresponding input to trigger the quickshifter in the ECU.
Does the quickshifter also work when downshifting?
No. The sensor only detects upshifts. Downshifting is done as usual using the clutch.
Can I turn off the quickshifter?
Yes. When combined with the FLAWLESS CAN bus map switch, you can turn the quickshifter on and off using the QS button directly on the handlebars. Without the map switch, the quickshifter is always active.
Are shift bangs required?
No. Shift bangs on upshifts are enabled by default but can be disabled on request. Just mention this in the comments field at checkout.
What are adaptive shift cut times?
The ignition cut duration is calculated in the control unit for every shift based on RPM and load, rather than following a fixed setting. This keeps shift quality consistently high across all gears and riding conditions.
Can I still use a diagnostic tool?
Yes. KTM diagnostic tools continue to work without restriction because the ECU software number remains unchanged.
Does the control unit need to be opened for programming?
No. The ECU is not opened or damaged during programming. The retrofit is also undetectable from the outside.
How long does processing take?
Once we receive your ECU, processing is usually completed within 24 hours. Shipments from Switzerland typically take 24 to 72 hours to process.
Is the retrofit suitable for all 2012 to 2016 EXC-F 350 models?
Yes. This quickshifter retrofit is specifically designed for the 2012 to 2016 KTM EXC-F 350.
Can I combine the quickshifter with a performance upgrade?
Yes. The FLAWLESS Quickshifter Retrofit is also available as an option with our complete FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash, together with a performance upgrade, CAN bus map switch, and other features.
