Quickshifter upgrade for the KTM SMR 450 2017 to 2022
With the FLAWLESS Quickshifter GP, we upgrade the quickshifter of your 2017–2022 KTM SMR 450 directly in the original ECU – for fast, clutchless upshifting, without an additional sensor and without any auxiliary control units on the motorcycle.
This is made possible by our own custom code within the engine control unit. It works with the existing gear position sensor and utilizes the reference values already learned by the ECU. Manual reading or adjusting of these values is therefore completely unnecessary.
The optimization remains invisible from the outside, the ECU software number does not change, and KTM diagnostic tools can still be used without restrictions.

Without an additional sensor – how the upgrade works
Standard quickshifter upgrades require a separate shift sensor and an additional control unit on the motorcycle. Both are unnecessary with our solution.
Instead, our FLAWLESS Quickshifter GP relies on the existing gear position sensor of your SMR 450. The reference values for this sensor are already learned in the ECU – our custom code uses them directly. You do not need to read, adjust, or retrofit anything.
Closed-loop system and adaptive interruption times
Through the closed-loop system of our code, the ignition is only reactivated once the gear change has been fully completed.
The interruption times adaptively adjust to each specific shift. In contrast, systems with fixed interruption times release the ignition based on rigid presets – often too early depending on the gear change. We avoid exactly that, ensuring you receive consistently clean performance with every shift.
Shifting from 1st to 2nd gear
Thanks to our specially developed custom code, the FLAWLESS Quickshifter GP works much more precisely than comparable solutions – and even works when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.
How to upgrade your quickshifter
- Configure – Order the FLAWLESS Quickshifter GP for your KTM SMR 450 and select your desired options.
- Send in the ECU – Remove the ECU from your KTM SMR 450 and send it to us securely packaged and insured.
- Programming – Upon receipt, your ECU is usually processed by our technicians within 24 hours. For shipments from Switzerland, the processing time is typically 24 to 72 hours.
- Install and ride – We will send your ECU back to you. Connect it, install it, and you're ready to go.
No additional hardware necessary
No additional control unit or sensor is installed on the motorcycle for the quickshifter upgrade. Your original ECU is programmed by us. The control unit is not opened or damaged and remains unchanged from the outside.
Your ECU's software number remains unchanged, and KTM diagnostic tools can continue to be used without restriction.
