A map switch allows you to toggle between several maps without having to reflash the motorcycle. The switch is mounted on the handlebars and retrieves the stored tunings directly – for instance, one version for the road and another for the racetrack.
How does a map switch work?
Multiple maps are stored in parallel within the engine control unit. The switch instructs the control unit as to which one is active. The switch takes place while riding.
