The FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash replaces the stock software in the original engine control unit of the Kawasaki Z 900 for model years 2025 and newer. We adjust the injection, ignition, lambda control, and throttle valve characteristics – this results in approximately 3 hp more power, 5 Nm more torque, and noticeably smoother power delivery, without any additional hardware on the motorcycle.
Unlike piggyback modules or auxiliary control units, we intervene directly in the stock software. The optimization remains invisible from the outside, and the control unit is neither opened nor damaged.
We tune each software individually to your motorcycle and the hardware actually installed. Optionally, this can be combined with the FLAWLESS Power Mapswitch, a lowered fan temperature, removal of the Vmax limiter, deactivation of the immobilizer, and an individually configured fuel cut-off for pops & bangs.
| Feature | Stock | with FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash |
|---|---|---|
| Peak power | 91 kW (124 hp) at 9,500 rpm | approx. +3 hp |
| Torque | 97.4 Nm at 7,700 rpm | approx. +5 Nm |
| Power delivery | Stock maps | significantly smoother and more consistent |
| Constant throttle jerk | present | significantly reduced or eliminated |
| AFR values | Stock maps | optimized for the respective setup |
| Mappings | Stock maps per riding mode | Individually adjustable via riding modes |
| Quickshifter and blipper | available as stock | remains fully functional |
| Fan temperature | Stock thresholds | Switch-on and switch-off point each approx. 4 °C lower |
| Top speed | electronically limited | Vmax limiter removed upon request |
| Immobilizer | active, start only with ignition key | deactivated upon request |
| Fuel cut-off | Stock characteristic | individually configurable |
| Additional hardware on the bike | – | not required |
We write the tuning software individually for your Kawasaki Z 900 and adapt the maps to the hardware installed on your bike.
Depending on the setup, this allows us to achieve an output increase of approx. +3 hp as well as around +5 Nm of torque.
In addition to pure power gains, we primarily improve the power delivery. The Z 900 accelerates more smoothly and consistently and responds more directly to throttle inputs overall.
The Z 900's typical constant throttle jerk is also significantly reduced or eliminated by the optimized maps.
As part of the Kawasaki Z 900 ECU tuning, we also adjust the injection maps. This ensures that the Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR) values of your Z 900 are in an optimized range for your specific setup.
In addition to improved drivability, this can also reduce thermal stress. The adjusted mixture preparation results in lower exhaust temperatures, which reduces thermal strain on components such as the exhaust valves and cylinder heads.
With the optional FLAWLESS Power Mapswitch, you can switch between different mappings using the riding modes of your 2025+ Kawasaki Z 900.
For example, you can keep the stock mapping in one riding mode and use the full FLAWLESS ECU Performance Flash in others – with or without pop & bangs.
Upon request, we can lower both the switch-on and switch-off temperatures of the fans by approx. 4 °C each.
This allows active cooling to start earlier and run longer. Your Z 900 will remain in the optimal temperature window more reliably, even during very sporty riding, high ambient temperatures, or in city traffic.
The top speed of your Z 900 is electronically limited as standard.
Upon request, we remove this top-speed limit so that acceleration does not cut off prematurely.
Are you using your Z 900 on the racetrack? Upon request, we can deactivate the immobilizer.
This allows your bike to be started without an ignition key – convenient if the machine has been modified for track use.
We adjust the fuel cut-off of your Kawasaki Z 900 individually to your preferences and installed setup – from subtle exhaust popping to clearly audible pops & bangs.
You can also program the pops & bangs to specific riding modes in the configurator.
Important: For setups with a catalytic converter, only subtle overrun popping is possible. Please specify when ordering whether your Z 900 is equipped with a catalytic converter so we can adjust the configuration accordingly.
Every software optimization for the Kawasaki Z 900 is tailored to your motorcycle's specific hardware. Please provide the following information in the comment field when ordering:
This allows us to optimally tune the mapping of your Kawasaki Z 900 to your motorcycle.
Exhaust systems and air filters, in particular, influence optimal map tuning. You can find suitable parts in our following categories:
Systems from Bodis, Remus, Austin Racing, or Arrow are also suitable. We are happy to discuss which combination is best for your setup before you place your order.
To achieve the stated performance increase on the Z 900, the following are mandatory:
Without these components, the specified power gain cannot be fully realized. The other features of the optimization – drivability, AFR values, map switch, fan temperature, Vmax limiter, immobilizer, and fuel cut-off – are available to you regardless.
No additional control unit is installed on the motorcycle for the software optimization. Your original ECU is programmed by us. The control unit is not opened or damaged and remains unchanged from the outside.
We have been developing our software optimizations in-house for over 5 years and write every map individually – we do not use purchased ready-made files.
The basis for this is created on our own high-performance simulation dynamometer. Every setup variant – from the stock configuration to combinations of various sports exhaust systems, sports air filters, and configurations with and without a catalytic converter – is installed and specifically tuned during development. Our maps are therefore based on real measured values and not on empirical values or copied files.
We process well over 1,000 control units annually. Development and programming take place entirely in Germany. If you have questions about your setup, you can reach us directly – we will advise you before you order on which configuration suits your motorcycle and intended use.
Do you ride the restricted 70 kW version or another model? You can find further optimizations for Kawasaki in our Kawasaki Naked category.
